Bullying No Way is Australia's national bullying prevention website, used by students, teachers and families in schools across the country. The existing site ran on a platform that had reached the end of its life. It could not support the way the resource library needed to grow, and the experience did not reflect the importance of the content. Education Services Australia needed a platform that served three distinct audiences, met WCAG 2.1 AA, and was simple for its own team to maintain.
Koben partnered with ESA to design the UI and UX around those audiences. Discovery focused on how an educator, a parent or a student arrives at the site and what they need first. That shaped three plain pathways (Understand, Prevent, Respond), a guided finder on the home page where a visitor states who they are and what they need, and a Students section with separate primary and secondary content. Accessibility requirements were written into the design from the first wireframe.
The site was rebuilt on Umbraco. Articles, videos, lesson plans, posters and professional learning resources are tagged by audience, year level, topic and format, and those tags drive the filters across the resource library. Videos are published with transcripts, and the Students section includes a Quick Exit control for young people who need to leave the site quickly. Koben worked with ESA's internal team to set up CI/CD pipelines and provided recommendations for the hosting infrastructure. Every template was built and tested against WCAG 2.1 AA.
The result is a platform that gives each audience a direct route to the right material. Students reach age-appropriate advice in two clicks, teachers filter the library by year level and topic, and ESA's team manages the whole catalogue in one CMS. The site now supports Bullying No Way Week, which brought together more than 7,500 schools and communities in 2026.
