Government websites built for trust and accessibility

Government websites aren’t brand campaigns. They’re public infrastructure. Government website development must meet accessibility standards, security controls, procurement constraints, and public expectations all at once, without slowing delivery or compromising user experience. We design and build government websites that work in production, not just on paper.

Government websites operate under scrutiny most digital platforms never face

Every government website is shaped by legislation, accessibility standards, security controls, and procurement processes. They must serve diverse communities, integrate with legacy systems, and remain stable as policy and programs change. Failure isn’t just technical, it erodes trust and wastes public resources. This is the work we do. We deliver government website development for federal agencies, state bodies and local councils, including Export Finance Australia, the Northern Australia Infrastructure Facility and the City of Canning, on Umbraco and Azure, built to WCAG accessibility standards and government security requirements without compromising usability, longevity or trust.

Modernise legacy systems

Replace aging platforms with scalable platforms that support change, growth, and long-term service delivery.

Deliver services people trust

Accessible, compliant websites that make it easier for people to find information they need.

Connect systems and teams

Integrate websites with internal systems to improve efficiency and break down departmental silos.

Proven government expertise

Deep government experience informs compliance, security, and usability in every build.

Modernise legacy systems with future ready platforms

Many government websites sit on platforms that can’t keep pace with policy change or rising service demand. Effective government website development starts with understanding legacy constraints before replacing anything.

Design for accessibility, not retrofitting

Accessibility can’t be added at the end of a government website project. We build to WCAG 2.1 AA from day one, with clear content structure, consistent patterns and real-world testing across devices and assistive technologies. The City of Canning’s council website was delivered WCAG 2.1 accessible and mobile-first, with federated search across the website and internal knowledge systems so residents find services in one place.

Our website is our public face. It’s often the first-place potential customers go to when they need to find out how we can help. Our customers will now benefit from an enhanced customer journey including personalisation.

Integrate across departments and systems

Government websites rarely operate in isolation. They connect to CRMs, document systems, data sources, and third-party services. We design integrations that respect existing architecture while reducing manual work and duplication across teams. This helps departments share information reliably and deliver digital services more efficiently.

Build with a partner who understands government delivery

Government digital delivery requires trade-offs. Security controls, privacy obligations and governance processes must coexist with usability. For Export Finance Australia we introduced two-factor authentication, a web application firewall and stricter CMS access controls so the platform passed government penetration testing, with multi-region load balancing for uptime. We also support clients through tender, RFQ and panel processes with case studies and credentials. Our approach reflects real government delivery experience, not theory.

Umbraco

Umbraco CMS is a flexible, open source platform designed for organisations dealing with complex content, integrations, and governance. As an Umbraco Platinum Partner, it's our go-to content management system when simpler platforms break down, supporting enterprise, government, and NFP platforms that need to scale, stay secure, and remain usable for everyday teams.

Integrations

Our API integration services sit at the centre of how modern platforms operate. When they’re built with intent, data moves predictably between systems, teams stop compensating manually, and platforms hold up under real-world demand.

Support

Digital support creates real value when platforms remain stable, secure and adaptable long after launch. We support Umbraco websites, apps and platforms as an embedded extension of your team: proactive monitoring, security patching, version upgrades and strategic guidance that keep platforms performing under real-world pressure, including the faster, automated attacks AI now makes possible.

Government questions we get asked

  • Yes. Our rebuild of the City of Canning's website, a Western Australian local council, was delivered as WCAG 2.1 accessible and mobile-first, which is the standard we build to for public sector work.

  • We design integrations and data flows with the sensitivity of the information in mind from the start, rather than adding security considerations afterward. For the City of Canning we connected the website to their TechnologyOne ERP and enterprise document management systems, which meant working within their existing security and governance requirements.

  • Yes. We serve government clients across Australia from our Gold Coast base, including local councils, and our work with the City of Canning is a direct example of that.

  • Yes. We migrated the City of Canning off an unsupported Kentico platform onto Umbraco, hosted on Azure, while adding a custom "My Neighbourhood" address search and a digital voucher system as part of the same project.

  • Yes, government work is often won through tender or panel processes rather than open search, and we support clients through that process, including providing case studies and credentials as part of a submission.
