Pankind is Australia's national pancreatic cancer foundation, working to triple survival rates by 2030. Pancreatic cancer has one of the lowest survival rates of any common cancer, so the people arriving at Pankind's website are often patients, family members and friends dealing with a recent diagnosis. The existing site did not reflect the foundation's refreshed brand, and its structure made it hard for those visitors to find support quickly.
Koben partnered with Pankind to rebuild the website around the moments that bring people to it. Working from the new brand guidelines, Koben mapped the four audiences the site serves: people worried they could be at risk, those recently diagnosed, those living with pancreatic cancer, and the people supporting them. Each audience became a pathway on the homepage, so a visitor reaches content that fits their situation in one click rather than working through a clinical menu.
The new site was built on Umbraco 13 and hosted on Microsoft Azure, giving Pankind a secure, scalable platform managed by Koben. Modular page components let the team publish stories, news, events and research updates within the brand system without developer support. A Family History Checker helps visitors understand inherited risk, and a Clinical Trial Finder connects patients with current studies. Forms and supporter sign-ups integrate with Pankind's CRM and email platform, so new contacts flow into the systems the team already uses.
The result is a website that matches the ambition of Pankind's new brand and meets people with calm, clear guidance at a difficult time. Visitors find support that fits their situation within seconds of arriving, and the Pankind team can publish research news, campaigns such as Remember September and new support programs without waiting on developers, giving the not-for-profit a platform for the awareness, fundraising and advocacy work behind its 2030 mission.
